Jennifer Love Hewitt made this series worth watching, she brought everything about it to life. The concept of being able to speak to the dead who lost their way, and help them find piece was great. It was very heart touching and different. Hewitt's energy was fantastic, she had so much life and happiness to bring to her character and when a sad scene arose she really brought emotion to the screen.
The biggest downfall to the show was the "perfect" marriage of Melinda and Jim. It was too perfect to the point of nausea. Very unrealistic. The other downfall was the last season. The series took a completely different turn that felt out of place and wrong. They tried to bring on a more Angel and Demon feel to the series that didn't feel right. On top of everything Jennifer's acting of the character didn't feel right in the last season. It was like she lost the fun light side and instead was constantly sad and gloomy which became exhausting.
It was too bad the series ended only after five seasons, but after that last season maybe it needed to. But I definitely wouldn't complain if they wanted to revive the show and bring Hewitt back.
