A big city family moves into a quiet, suburban community during October. They begin to feel like outsiders as they adjust to the new lifestyle of a town that celebrates Halloween like a fun-spirited cult. The daughter accidentally unleashes an ancient, evil entity called Stingy Jack who cursed the town long ago. It's up to the father and daughter, to overcome their disagreeable relationship and defeat the curse of Stingy Jack together.
It's an enjoyable family Halloween movie, with a stupid plot that revolves around a father that refuses to let his family participate in Halloween, in the name of science?? Lame!! Anyway, Marlon Wayans keeps this stubborn dad act for a little too long which drags the movie down for me, but the charm is kept alive by the spooky concept and acts from Priah Ferguson, Lauren Lapkus, Rob Riggle, and Kelly Rowland. It's cute, harmless fun, for the average Halloween fan.
