No thank you, Mr Moto
18 September 2022
I wanted to like this and it started well. Peter Lorre (Mr Moto) kicks the film off with some involving action set in the Gobi desert as he protects a document from falling out of his ownership. We later find out that this paper is being traded as artwork and is part of a set. There are seven scrolls that when joined together reveal the location of hidden riches. Philip Ahn (Prince Chung) holds the other six and the story centres around some baddies trying to get hold of these scrolls in order to claim the treasure for themselves.

Sounds ok? Well, unfortunately, it just gets boring and I ended up just waiting for things to end. Lots of people running about and then a double-cross, etc. I also wanted Peter Lorre to give a typical stereotypical line of dialogue like "I am Mr Moto, ah so" but he never said this so that was a disappointment.
