This deserves more love than it gets. It shows us how different morality can be from person to person, and how even the "bad guys" can have a code of ethics- and everyone always thinks they are the right ones... Anyway, I like how this film made the Vincent Price character someone we could sort of feel empathy for by the end, in spite of everything.
This movie is basically a lighthearted look at ethics and values and their interplay in the political system, wrangling with the all-too-contagious hunger for power.
I thought it was very good, and the songs were lovely. I especially loved how the musical numbers were done in a very 1960s grand style- just in b&w and on a smaller scale.
Bonus points for the beautiful winter season shots in the snow!
