The story is a boring, confusing, over-complicated mess. I think the writer / director may have tried to go for a psychological thriller but they failed completely - the result is nearly unwatchable.
Kevin Bacon is a poor actor even on his best day so that doesn't help and Gary Oldman's talent was just wasted in this.
