I finally gave this film a shot, with two high profile leads in Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds and an MIB-like action comedy dealing with undead people? Sign me up! Or so I thought
This film just firstly isn't that funny - the jokes aren't good and are predictable. The start is good, building Ryan Reynolds character but it gets thrown off its course When Bridges enters.
The monsters also are grotesque, I know it's purposeful but if this film is aiming to be light entertainment you've got to do better there. You can see why this film never was until it appeared in streaming - not going to finish it, wasn't worth it even if the sub plot with the wife left behind is intriguing. I'll read the rest of the plot on Wikipedia and watch something I know I'll enjoy.
