A decent film inspired by the 1980 incident that launched the 'Free Nelson Mandela' movement

South African crime drama "Silverton Siege" is 'inspired by' the 1980 event that sparked the 'Free Nelson Mandela' movement - AND is decent entertainment. After being betrayed on an operation, anti-apartheid freedom-fighters Thabo Rametsi, Noxolo Dlamini & Stefan Erasmus are holed up in a Jo'burg bank with hostages inc Elani Dekker & Michelle Mosalake - as Arnold Vosloo's cops trap them from outside. Dialogue & action pull out different perspectives as tension builds to the climax (which delivers). Major props to writer Sabelo Mgidi, director Mandla Dube and the excellent cast (esp Rametsi, Dlamini (the African Zendaya), Dekker & Vosloo). Fine & noble fare.
