Trading Mom (1994)
5/10
a very decent yet okay and silly family movie that's not great

Warning: Spoilers
Trading Mom was the kind of movie I remember watching back on videocassette with my family and despite it being based on the book that I have never read in years and remember seeing the movie again on the Disney channel in the mid to late 1990s. And still it's very decent and okay. Plus Sissy Spacek often play all of the roles compared to Eddie Murphy's characters in "Coming to America" as well as Tony Randell's characters in "the 7 Faces of Dr. Loa" even the chemistry between Elizabeth and her two brothers (Jeremy and Harry who are played by Aaron Michael Metchik and Asher Metchik who played brothers Harry and Jeremy are also brothers in real life) is very sweet and remarkable, the characters are probably from maybe poorly written, not so great to stereotypical and the movie itself doesn't hold up well despite it not having a DVD and Blu-ray release and of course this film was Andre the Giant's last film role in which he plays the Circus Strongman in this film after he passed away on January 27th, 1993 just a year before the film's released a year later and the whole movie itself has that "it was all a dream cliché" since the kids felt there search for a new mom was actually a dream all along compared to North (1994); plus there is this "Work alcoholic Parent" cliché, the "get Grounded" cliché, and the "Be Careful what you wish for" cliché that's happened before including in "Wizards of Waverly Place: the Movie" (2009) and in "Liar Liar" (1997) starring Jim Carrey; and the film itself also had a fecal matter joke, and the bottom line to this film is that no matter what you parents say "you know if they're kind of hard on you sometimes they're trying to do there best they want to do your best" and this film shows that and insured it shows the bond between children and their mother appeals that know just because they may boss you around may tell you what to do they're only doing it just because they love you and they want you to do there best and that's what exactly this movie is about despite how this obscure family movie doesn't hold up very much.
