Warning: Spoilers
Having seen a number of outstanding movies from Spain at VIVA: The 28th Spanish & Latin American Film Festival recently,I was thrilled to discover that the GRIMM festival was having a double bill of Horror titles from Spain, leading to me crossing the line.

View on the film:

Finding no option to free himself from the descent into a night of horrors, Mario Casas gives a superb performance as Dani, whose shy, quiet manner is used by Casas to push Dani into a nightmare with ease, which twists Dani as a nervous wreak, left living on the edge, trying to survive the night.

Sniffing Dani out as a weakling, Milena Smit gives a blazing performance as Mila, whose passive-aggressive attitude is used by Smit to make Mila a Femme Fatale siren who catches Dani's ear, and burns with the passion for chaos, when Mila locks Dani into her games.

Crossing the line to a stunning pulse-pounding electronic score by Adrian Foulkes and Federico Jusid, co-writer (with Jordi Vallejo & Clara Viola ) director David Victori reunites with cinematographer Elias M. Felix and slams the audience into an engulfing claustrophobic Neo-Noir Horror atmosphere of tightly coiled, long takes with hand-held camera moves standing right next to Dani, as neon drips across the screen, turning a blood red.

Following Dani after hours from his bar job into going with Mila to her flat for the night, the screenplay by the writers thrillingly take the drip drip approach to pouring the horror over Dani. Initially having Mila be dominant in pushing him around, the writers make Dani's ease in getting pushed around into finding himself at the center of Mila's secrets, which Dani tries to break away and run back to his old life, when the under world of the night, spots Dani crossing the line.
