Has some big problems, but it also does a fair few things very well

Good style and action as you'd expect from Walter Hill. It's also got a pretty great cast, and Christopher Walken steals just about every scene he in, as he was seemingly born to do. I also enjoyed Bruce Willis' take on the Clint Eastwood-esque lone, anti-hero, western character.

Unfortunately, it is also a messy movie. You get the sense there was some kind of clash between what Hill wanted and what the producers wanted, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of that messiness came about beside of constant editing and re-editing. Can't confirm, and haven't read up on this movie's production, but it's just a feeling I got from the finished product.

So as a whole it has issues, but plenty of the individual elements are very good, and it's worth watching for those, despite the overarching imperfections and flaws.
