Review of Panama

Panama (I) (2022)
3/10
The film is poorly crafted in every regard. Pass this one by!

Warning: Spoilers
I found no redeeming quality in this film what so ever. Cole Hauser was very out of shape, which seems ludicrous for someone in a role of a tough military contractor. The fight scenes were just dimwitted. Any one fighting like the rebel leader while standing not moving in the middle of a clearing, entirely vulnerable, while screaming welcome to the jungle, while a geto blaster is roaring in the background wouldn't live long enough to get out the entire line. When on a armed patrol Hauser's character is didi bopping through the jungle, with no possibility of returning fire if he was engaged. In another scene where assassins are about to sneak into his room to silently kill him, for no particular reason he suddenly knows they are there.

In another scene where his lover and he are engaged in important to the script pillow talk the background is filled with a loud musical sound track. Hearing their conversation is impossible, and is entirely washed out be the inane musical score.

The film has no cohesion, and poor continuity. Sadly Gibson's talents are entirely wasted on a piss poor script.
