Unfortunately I had just finished the book about a month ago. It was slightly frustrating in that our young female protagonist was written as a shallow, air head throughout. After ten minutes I'd worked out we were dealing with a 'weather underground' type situation, and though there was more plot, it was a bit meh. And she didn't really improve.
The TV show started and I thought I'd seen it before, because the opening scenes were so clear. Then I realised that it was a TV version of the book. Some differences and reasonably watchable if you hadn't read the book just a few weeks prior but the daughter still annoyed me to blazes. I can't get in to shows that have these drippy types as their main.8.
