I'm still awaiting the awe I felt in the pilot but that moment has not come yet. However, it does not mean that these episodes are low-quality by any means. GoT shows some exquisite world-building. As we are shown various settings, mainly King's Landing, Winterfell, The Wall and the Dothraki, we are introduced to many characters which is becoming a task to keep up with. There were some slow narrative moments but the performances of virtually every single character was excellent enough to cover for that.

We see the plot thicken in the palace and Litterfinger creates tension by letting Ned know that there are ears everywhere and that there are no secrets. Could Ned, the stern Northerner, navigate through politics like he did with battles? That's a watch point to keep in mind.

The producers also build some tension in the Wall by portraying what's outside of The Wall and how tough it is to be a Night Watch. We also get quite a bit of decent character development for Jon Snow, who shows of a kind character but also deep-rooted self-loathing because of his lineage.

Daenerys is becoming more powerful and confident of herself which is a big contrast from how he let Viserys treat her like a commodity in the pilot. I wish that this development was more subtle and gradual. But I understand for time's sake, it makes sense. Emilia Clark is one fine actress and she's a perfect cast for this role.

Overall, another solid episode. It's hard to imagine what the show will shape to be - hardcore drama, action, horror, historical...perhaps a mix of all. But it has not let me down for a single moment so far.
