"Rocked in the Cradle of the Deep"
2 February 2022
Their spearguns described as their calling cards and man "an intruder from a mysterious upper world where fish can't go and live", the titular trio live up to their name, treating that sea life they don't befriend as a buffet about which narrator Dan O'Herlihy makes laconic observations like "of no potential interest to the scientist, only to the cook", "the sea turtle, excellent for soup" and "one of the tastiest fish in the ocean"; and spearing one fish so they can feed it to another they've adopted as a pet.

Sharks obviously feature prominently, in one scene devouring a wounded manta ray. While in one extraordinary shot a school of the latter are seen leaping out of the water like the chorus in an Esther Williams water ballet in order to dislodge parasites.
