Wes Anderson is a master when it comes to visual aspects of the film and The French Dispatch is no exception. The cast is stellar as well. The problem is that it completely lacks emotion and the stories are not interesting enough to really draw you in. The same applies for the characters as well. For the last 30 minutes I was already completely disconnected from the film and barely made it to the final credits. I liked quite a lot of his previous work going all the way back to his debut Bottle Rocket but in my humble opinion The French Dispatch is one of his weakest works.
