All the movies directed by Sean Penn are very strong and powerful, with tough and realistic carachters. This one is not an exception, but it doesn't bright the same. Maybe Penn has intended to make a perfect vehicle to show his daughter's capacities (she is the best of the picture), I don't know. Maybe the fact that is based on true events doesn' help at all. The plot is correct, the mise en scène is also correct, Sean Penn-style, but the assembly doesn't work, the film get worse from the midddle till the end. Many years have passed since Into The Wild in 2007, I hope he can give us another master piece in the future.
