The late Patrick Macnee as John Steed a non carrying gun debonair secret agent for MI-6 possibly as he used wit, charm, hand to hand combat, to get the bad guys.
At first Ian Headley was his partner in the original over in Dr. Gale who's soon to be wife was murdered and Steed approached him to find justice for her. And that was the beginning but when the late Headley left for movies without sadly no success.
Then Steed would have Cathy Gale a Judo expert and a female version of Indiana Jones, Emma Peel as a woman thirst for adventure and the wife of a missing pilot, first to do kung fu. And last but not least Tara King who was the youngest at 20 and plus Steed and King both single seemed to be really more closer to each other. Since the other two were married.
