As much as I like Yul Brynner, Maria Schell, Claire Bloom this one is just odd. Over the top acting, no soul, staged. Maria can pass as a Russian but Claire is just to much of an English flower. For a big budget production this doesn't have the magic of Doctor Zhivago. Richard Brooks had directed very good movies but not this one.
