Largely faithful, weak actors
19 October 2021
Not as thorough as the 1977 version but largely faithful to the source material, though void of Dickensian atmosphere and tone. A nice production to look at for a TV movie of 2001, but largely poorly acted, particular James darcy who does a wholly forgettable Nicholas nickleby. Watch the superior 1977 version but this is a good second to help solidify the e story in your mind. Skip the 2002 Hollywood burchering.
