Sure, but you didn't understand the show. You're probably either looking at it from an insanely priviledged position (like I did too), you have Netflix plan god damn, something Alex could never even dream of, OR you simply don't understand what this story is about.
Some of her decisions 'seem' stupid from an outside point of view, but the main point of this show is how hard it is for victims of domestic violence to escape and get away from their abusive partner, be it because of the law, or because the control their partner has over them is rooted so deep.
And on top of that, she even has a bipolar mother and has to care for her child without any education or real goverment help.
This is one of the best shows I've seen in quite a while and it will probably take an equally long time to forget it. Masterful.
