Maybe this is the type of humor that brits enjoy but it ranks too high on the cringeometer to be enjoyable for me. Watching Ms. Blethyn in this is like watching a triple crown winning thoroughbred pulling a plow. Ok, not quite apt but the closest I can think of is watching some show where the main character has a dream sequence where they're the star of some terrible 70s american sitcom, with fake laugh track, only in this case, it's no dream. If that's what they were going for, they're spot on.
