House manages to get his patient killed of a drug overdose in a burning building. How ridiculous and stupid is that? Facing his death, House hallucinates a lot of old characters dropping by to ask him important questions about his life. For House, that is a total waste of time, since he lives his life like a druggie rat, going from Vicodin to Vicodin, and never thinking of anyone but himself.
Lots of old characters show up to talk him out of dying. Mostly loser characters that were annoying to see again, like Anne Dudek. It would have been better if all the people he had hurt emotionally showed up to make sure he burned to death, since that is what he deserved as a human being. Lisa Edelstein, who was a great part of the series did not appear. Apparently she was tired of House or they did not want to pay her enough.
Overall, this was an incredibly lame series finale. The totally obvious and predictable twist happened, and House limps off to do one last good thing in his life, to balance out all the ego-destruction and psychological pain he has caused to his patients and his friends. House was a great doctor, but a horrible human being.
