It's a very good movie from the golden age of cinema. We have an excellent director, a great cast, a very good script and a compelling story that is well acted and grabs the viewer. As much as Torneur had not agreed with the monster, the effects were very well achieved and did not conspire with the conclusion of the film. There are twists and turns, an excellent atmosphere and it is a great pleasure to witness the simple fact that to make great cinema all you need is talent and a good story.
