There's sixty reviews, and mine will be the only one below six stars. Everyone, the critics and viewers alike, love it. But I insist this is not a good movie. The premise is that the protagonist slowly becomes adored by his pupils, but we don't understand WHY they would feel that way. I felt manipulated: he's an immigrant, an asylum-seeker with a troubled background, so he's supposed to be adored? And that the principal would be so careless to hire someone without a teaching credential, especially if they were from another country, was not believable. Yes, it was affecting in parts, but overalll a disappointment.
