This film from Spain tells the story of Sister Helene Studler, a Daughter of Mercy who, by using a supply truck, not only fed and clothed fleeing refugees, but also used the truck to smuggle prisoners out of prison camps. She was captured by the Nazi's who imprisoned her. The actors are excellent and some scenes difficult to watch, but necessary to show what great heroes the many nun's and volunteers did with the impossible dangers they faced. Instead of the common anti-Catholic material, Network of Freedom gives a more accurate account of so much of the good done by so many of the devout Catholics of France in the 1940's.
