There were numerous good laughs in the movie. If you look it up understanding it is supposed to be a comedy you will enjoy it.
Several of the misfits on this crew have their own eccentricities to work out. There are actually a few moments when you get that hair up on the back of the neck feeling. It does a pretty good job of showing some of the hazards of submarine duty.
Some of the cast are quirky, some gorgeous like Lauren Holly, and one totally annoying character who they make walk the plank.
I will probably watch it again in a few weeks just for the gags.
