Throughout the whole movie Chrissa is punished (or almost punished) for what little she does to stand up for herself and others when in reality she did nothing wrong. A teacher knows she is being bullied and does nothing about it. Her parents are complete idiots who have to go to her brother to try and get information about why their daughter is upset. Her brother is literally the only one who picks up on the fact she's being bullied even though she's bullied right in front of her parents or teachers.
This movie basically teaches kids they can't go to adults to help or that adults won't help and that they have to solve the problems themselves. I understand American Girl's mission is empowering young girls, but this isn't it.
