Would a rose by any other name smell differently? Hell yeah!

This series felt like leafing through a Cosmo magazine - sugar-coated and sickly. Like a glossy advert for drugs. You know this is no way near the truth, but goddamn it looks good!

It was very comical when Christiane's mother kept asking her husband about "where did you get the money from?" when clearly they were not suffering from poverty (did anybody?). The apartment is well furnished and has loads of trinkets and paintings (and of course, not to mention the stylish clothes). In no way suggesting they are struggling.

The characters problems seem as real as those phony guards chasing them.

Most disturbing and twisted was the scene where the girls said "let's show them how it's done". It was like Cuties on steroids.

Coincidentally I finished the book on New Year's Eve. Not only was it dark, it was frightening. It wasn't a pretty picture, but it was an authentic and an effective one.

I would understand if they had just said this series is a tribute to Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo. A little reference at the beginning.. but why use the title, the characters or try to imitate the plot? It only opens doors to disappointment.
