A nakedness I like
27 February 2021
Deadpan Moore, playing it down is right at home here, as a English shrink, who's not having the bet of day. Surviving a few attempts at hi life, He must race against the clock, to track down the assassin'. If you've seen a lot of these kind of thrillers, it won't be hard to piece it together, who's bad, and why he' being marked. Complicating Moore's misfortune, he' also a suspect in a patient murder, where a harderned Detective (Steiger-excellent) aided by a much less intense sidekick (Gould) has a overbearing grudge against Moore, relating to a tragedy caused by Moore year later, so there you have your first suspect. The Naked Face is a very entertaining movie, and as a thriller, does have some surprises, but doesn't really go far. Great actor, Steiger is one of the best things about it, and makes a meal of his role here, where Moore is just adequate. The film has an interesting starting, we get a score of Moore's cooky patients Like I said, the film is bloody entertaining, and when it got to the truth of the why's, for Moore's termination, it was a kind of bummer, a also for the fate of one of his patients in the final tragic reel. Definitely different. Again, you'll have so much fun watching steiger lose it. It' a fantastic performance. There' just not enough meat in the story, or juice in thriller terms.
