As someone delving into filmmaking particularly working on a short I think it's great to see other works of inspiration as I believe it's actually far more challenging to create a story within essentially a 4 minute window. I would say some of them of varying degrees of success particular stand outs to me are the Alice Lowe short 'Nightfeed' and 'The doorkeeper' which *spoiler alert* for those who have seen The Others know where that one gets its inspiration from but never the less I think it's very well made and the scares work the best as they are subtle. I have to say for the review that claims 'Behind You' is the best one is simply incorrect as I felt out of all of them it was the cheesiest, worst acted one that played for obvious scares that you could see coming a mile away. Overall I enjoyed them and think it would be great to film4 / bfi offer filmmakers these kind of opportunities.
