Oh no! Not the big one!

Warning: Spoilers
Most Asylum films really are pretty bad so this one is a step above the other half dozen that I've seen. At least there's no teens around this time to muck everything up, just mixed up science that can take people back to the prehistoric times and reverse it, this time bringing a T-Rex back with them. The science part looks cheesy but when they do get back to the times before civilization, there are some pretty good special effects involving various breeds of dinosaurs including a vegetarian brontosaurus, some smaller meat eaters, a pterodactyl and of course the biggest meat eater of them all. This one also has the benefits of Michael Gross and Christopher Atkins, with the star of "The Blue Lagoon" looking quite the same as he did 28 years before.

Atkins and his crew have been stuck in this prehistoric land for six years, having gone there in 1949. So Gross, who finds his brother there, decides to change places with him, but by some mix-up, the T-Rex gets blitzed 100 million years ahead. This is full of action but rather stock characters, although it is amusing that the crew that has been there since 1949 doesn't see how society has changed. I guess if I was trying to avoid a big meat eater, I wouldn't notice that either.

Another one of the amusing thrilling moments comes when one of the soldiers is spat at by some sort of big plant, falls into the water and encounters something that we do not see that obviously gets a little snack. This isn't your normal milkweed because it appears to blind him. So at least some imagination went into this, and the results aren't as hideous as a good majority of this straight to video product.
