I think this will be pretty good, though different from the book and 90s series. The jumping around is a little awkward, but as others have said, perhaps each episode is going to focus on a specific character.
My only real complaint about a change in a character was making Franny suicidal. I always thought of her as one of the bright spots in the original story, strong and a fighter even with her doubts about the baby and the future. To have her try to check out so soon in the story seems to take something away from the character.
