I just happened to catch the first episode starting on a PBS station and decided to give it a watch because of Imelda and Francesca, not expecting anything special. Also, knowing that a lot of PBS stations throw British series on any old time they like without any guarantee you'll ever be able to find when the next episode will run, I wasn't figuring I would be too invested in the show, and the first episode really wasn't all that intriguing.
However, and fortunately for me, the second episode ran next, and that's what hooked me, so I sought out the final two episodes and was happily rewarded with a great semi-mystery, semi-family, semi-psycho killer drama that did not drag out for however many needlessly long episodes, and I am now hoping for a second season as short and sweet as the first.
