Taxi Driver in grungy 90s LA with further detail into the insanity/delusions/psychology
18 September 2020
Just as good as Taxi Driver; despite following a similar plot, there's plenty of subtle differences, and not just in setting. There's far greater exploration of Ernest's mental state, and this is the best picture I've seen that sums up the despair of '90s LA, something that's rarely focussed on. Brilliant and criminally underrated film that keeps you hooked from start to finish; it's a massive shame the director/star have not seen additional success.
