Although this is a relatively quiet GAME OF THRONES moment with no big deaths or battles, and yet the quality of the writing is excellent. Littlefinger is at his oily best here and the political intrigue is second to none, with the kind of murkiness and subtlety that would be missing in the blunter later seasons. There's also decent mystery that fell by the wayside after season one, alongside character-building for the Hound, a great jousting tourney, and the typically excellent photography.
