Patrick, a 20 years old boy, returns to Portugal 10 years after being kidnapped. It's Gonçalo Waddington's first feature film as a director. The narrative of this film is heavy and melancholy, addressing heavy stuff, that are still taboo in our (portuguese) society: pedophilia and sexual violence. The photography is a very important aspect here (recorded in Sertã, Portugal), portraying emptiness and abandonment. It is a slow-paced but very engaging film, that explores the duality of the characters and their perspectives of the same situation. The soundtrack is very beautiful, with a noir and mistery vibe, feeling like the 60/70's classics.
