6/10
By any means necessary

A good sequel has to be better than the original but it's very rarely that you see one at least as good as the first. There is only one reason that a person would want to watch a sequel - it's if the idea was original and you want to see it expand or be clarified furthermore and Hypercube surely takes it to a whole new level, way beyond the original, expanding it to the fullest and explaining almost everything there was left to explain in the first movie. But in tryings to make the story bigger and better the cast and crew just made it bigger (which sadly didn't serve right in the visual effects department, the music and at times the photography). Hypercube showed the story from too many angles and perspectives that you can simply get lost in all of the madness that's happening on the screen with the great help of top-notch acting; it definitely feels fresh and entertaining but it lacks pacing and the ending is, although unexpected, plain dull and too safe and obvious for securing another sequel which I would totally see but it's the story for another day.
