Three generations of women. Three generations of women poisoned by abusive, drunken men. Three generations of victimized women combating toxic masculinity. In a nutshell, that is the story of Grandma Mary, Mom Chloe, and daughter Olivia in the film "Stalked By My Ex."

In her youth, Chloe could not bring herself to forgive her mother for dumping her beloved father. But Chloe did not know that the father was a "closet alcoholic" and a serial philanderer.

Now, Chloe must inform her daughter Olivia that her father Sam is about to be released after ten years in prison for nearly running over Chloe while driving in a fit of rage. In the course of the film, both Olivia and Chloe learn of the horrors their mothers had to endure with dissolute and abusive males.

One of the most interesting characters in the film is Alexis, the friend of Chloe growing up in West Ridge. But Alexis held a grudge because Chloe would always get the good dates, and she escaped the small town to become a success at a large apparel organization.

When Chloe returns home in flight from her deranged husband, she gets the job that Alexis had been coveting at Kimmy Cole Apparel. In retaliation, Alexis reveals to Chloe's ex husband Sam the information that allows him to locate Chloe and Olivia and kidnap his daughter. Alexis has remorse for what she has done. But will Chloe ever be able to forgive the turncoat?

Alesis also envies Chloe beause Sergeant Brian Reardon has started a romantic relationship with her. The sparks begin to fly between the couple when Chloe returns to West Ridge. Brian will also play a crucial role in fending off the assault of the madman. Alexis is livid because she is stuck with her deadbeat husband Dave.

At a couple of points in the film, Chloe reminds her daughter that "home is where we're at." Those words are comforting in the close bonding of mother and daughter in a world of toxic masculinity.
