Worst. Villains. Ever.
2 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This seems more like a filler episode in a 30 episodes season of a cheap TV show. I've wrote some notes that I think pretty much sums up how lazy and confused this movie is most of the time. First tho, I have to say, the only good thing I can think of is that weirdly enough, I found the animation style here way better than the ones they use on the rest of the DCAU. And well... the invisible jet is kind of nice.

Back to the notes tho. Does it really has a 20 minutes... opening?

The beginning is so similar to the live action, but is so freaking fast. The characters have basically no interaction at all, and after 5 minutes Trevor is "well, you are hot, I'm hot, so obviously we are gonna bang and save the world together". Look, I get we know those characters, and I bet 95% of people who see the movie are hardcore DC fans... but man, how can you be so lazy? I get using a bit of the knowledge your audience already has to cut screen time, but you have to make your film cohesive, the characters have zero chemistry, and no reason at all to team up. In Wonder Woman (2017), Trevor told them all about the war, million deaths, and a world in collapse, after that, and arguing with her mom, she steels the armor and sword, and "forces" to led her to the war. Here, she just finds him hot, and proceeds to follow him to... study with a doctor? What?

We also have no reason to worry about Vanessa, we've known her for 7 minutes at this point, half of it been a silly montage, where is constantly complaining.

I mean, great call Steve, let the defenseless women getting SHOT and don't even go look how she is after the shooters are defeated. He is the real bad guy here for sure.

Skipping to the end, how great was their plan right? Cyber is killed 30sec after her big monster comes to life. I guess, no money for you darlin. But... she wasn't the real master villain... wait, not yet, gonna talk about it later.

Just: Worst. Villains. Ever.

Hippolyta is such a b!tch, she was going to let her daughter get killed without moving a muscle! What?! "My little girl" my a$$.

And at the end, what did the poison do to her tho? Is she blind...? Cause up to the point where Vanessa helps her, she seems to be seen Medusa very well. Why did Trevor need the purple light at the end? What did he do to get injured? He literally had just a minor cut.

And finally, what in the hells was the post-credit scene? How do you not show your film's true villain up to the credits!? And if she was responsible for all those deaths... why not arrested her?! Why are you gonna live her there? Why?!

My God, I hadn't realized how bad this movie was, until writing this down. I was just thinking it was another mediocre film up till now. But, it's bad. I guess that the fact I saw it on a 1.3x speed is telling of how not good this is. It's not worth it, it would definitely be one of the downsides of a 30 episode season of a cheap TV show on Cartoon Network, if this was an episode
