The Body (II) (2019)

Do we have shortage of Original Scripts?
21 May 2020
Derived from the original Spanish thriller "The Body" way back in 2012, This remake utterly failed to capitalise on the true prospect of the plot. Oriol Paulo's original writing is being insulted by the 'Remakers' here. The forced melodrama, additon of unnecessary songs toned down the intensity. The characters are badly written, not dwelled enough. The connections, the relevance to them is next to nothing. Even when the predetermined twist arrives, I feel absolutely empty. The surprise element, the impactness has already long gone. I solely blame poor execution and writing for that. Performances are just decent enough. Nothing to be cheered up for. Only saving grace would be the clever twist. Although it wasn't as effective as it should have been; I enjoyed it nonetheless. But I must say something before I finish. The gradual progression of these remakes are growing up by numbers day by day. The current stature of Bollywood to pick up scripts from foreign industries arr nothing but a concerning matter. And believe me it's not good for the future of Proficient writers in our country nor the audience who are being forced to watch a remake rather than a original creation. You better watch the original one, if you still have any sort of Interest towards this particular premise.
