Subtly Enjoyable, With Characters That By The End You Will Really Care About

Warning: Spoilers
Subtly enjoyable, humourous, sad, and joyous. With no strong centralized plot, it is the type of movie that I had to sit back and just allow to unfold and draw me in to. But by the end I knew that I cared about these characters, and that the warmth of their friendship towards one another had touched me. The film is shot in black and white, and is stylized in such a way, that occasionally I nearly forgot that it was set-in relatively contemporary times. The ending, though almost melodramatic, just seemed to fit, and the scenes where the three men sell off their most cherished possessions to be able to purchase Mimi a private room in the hospital, will prove memorable for me, I am sure.
