Lakeith Stanfield played wrongfully convicted Colin Warner who spent 21 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. But what made this movie different to me was his best friend KC played by the very handsome and talented Namdi Asomugha and his wife Antoinette.

KC spent 20 years trying to prove the innocence of his friend. He took out loans he couldn't afford for attorneys, his wife left him, and he even learned how to be a court processor so he could take that on as a second job and meet attorneys who could him help his friend. It worked. The commitment and loyalty to his friend was touching, and Namdi was so believable in this role.

Antoinette has been a childhood friend but they never dated until Colin was already in prison for many years. They married there and had a child. She continued to investigate and fight along with KC and the new lawyer until they finally able to get him freed.

The kid that actually did the murder was freed after 9 years. Colin served 21 and might have served longer as he kept maintaining his innocence and the parole board didn't want to hear that.

This was a great movie. I'm usually not for the content in my entertainment but the storytelling of this one was incredible and the acting superb.
