Warning: Spoilers
Having seen Berger's films, majority would agree on his consistent style of telling a THIN plot in a painfully SLOW pace. Merely focusing on what goes through the minds of each character. What I don't like about this film is how similar it is to Hawaii, the director throws in so much questions and build-ups and then abruptly ends the story in one answer. Although I would admit a part of that element keeps me thinking about the film and continue instigating days after.

The way this film portrays reality is so accurate that the majority would find it uninteresting. A teenager getting the hots at late night and dawn is realistic, age gap kink is realistic, firm man stirring clear of trouble is realistic, punching a creeper is realistic, a suppressed feeling finding closure in fantasy is realistic. I have invested myself in the cinematic side of this film and it would be hypocritical to say that I didn't wish for a happy ending. Everytime I hoped something would happen or one of them will make a move, I get disappointed and then consider that it's what anyone would have done anyway. Also, one of the reasons I liked this film.

The thing I can't be confident enough to interpret is the ending. Sebastian drifts off into a fantasy of what it could've been had he shown motive? He wants to apologize for turning Martin down? For punching him? For not telling him he had mutual feelings?
