First of all how to film a Herman Hesse book/novel?? Herman Hesse was a mystical person and all of his books/novels are still mystical. That being said, I do like this movie/film adaptation of the classic book: Siddhartha. Though some of my favorite scenes from the boak are missing ( i.e. Siddhartha contemplating suicide, sleeping then waking at thr river only to find Govinda watching over him) That being said, this is still a very enjoyable film adaptation of this classic novel. The classic cinematography featuring long wide shots are wonderful, and fir the tone/theme of the story perfectly. Recommended for fans of classic literature to film (i.e. Animal Farm, Moby Dick, Of Mice and Men)
