Clever and Heartfelt

Warning: Spoilers
I've never read the comics this was based on but as a movie I thought it was pretty good. I think kids and adults will like it for its clever writing and humor. The story focuses on the titular characters (Raúl Rivas and Daniel Cerezo) who are both busy but still have a good heart nonetheless. After causing trouble they're sent to a strict summer school where they rebel against the rules and form the Marble gang with a few other students Micro, Filo and Matilda who's the niece of the headmaster. As they continue to rebel they slowly begin to realize that the school has a secret the original owner hid that the headmaster Falconetti (Javier Gutiérrez) is desperately trying to find.

It's up to them to discover it before Falconetti and his goons do. The story's been done before but what makes this stand out is the charm of the main characters and the clever writing. Speaking of which the characters are interesting and fun to watch. Zipi and Zape are busy but have charm and are fun to watch in terms of their antics and way of thinking. Their friends are also fun to watch as well. They both have well-defined personalities and they offer something new that furthers the plot. The main antagonists are over the top in the best way. The warden is both hilarious and threatening. Every time he's on screen he looks like his head's going to explode. The action's cool. The scenes where they're trying to solve the puzzles are really interesting. They're so clever and ingenious.

The only issues I have are that when Zipi and Zape mess up it's always face palm worthy. There's a scene where Zape reveals he was the one behind the gang to Falconetti. Aside from that I don't have much to say other than if you like the comic books or not then I highly recommend you check this and the sequel too. It's a bunch of fun. You'll have a huge blast.
