I saw this film when it was released. The main reason I liked it so much was it showed that Eddie Murphy's breadth of talent. Also, the casting is excellent: Besides Muurphy, you have Charles Dance, Victor Wong, James Hong and several ither very good actors. *Note: To date, James Hong has appeared in 435 films; Victor Wong has been in 35 "Hollywood" films; however some are brilliant; for example, "Seven Years In Tibet" (1997), "The Last Emperor" (1987), which was a brilliant film that won 9 Oscars. It was directed by the legendary Bernardo Bertolucci and co-starred John Lone, Joan Chen, Peter O'Toole, Ryuchi Sakamoto (an Oscar and Grammy winning great Japanese composer), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (another excellent Japanese actor), Henry O, and numerous other Asian actors. Victor Wong has also been in countless Chinese films. I enjoyed this even though it is predictable. If you are a fan of Eddie Murphy, say no more. He is "The Chosen One".
