Review of Off the Air

Off the Air (2007 Video)
Excellent nostalgia/porn

Randy Spears as writer-director delivered a quality feature to Wicked Pictures with this rather sincere tribute to the golden days of radio.

Set in 1939, and replete with snazzy vintage cars, hair styles and wardrobe, it depicts rather convincingly the old radio plays, suspense mysteries acted out at the microphone by the ensemble porn star cast. Story involves life imitating art, as the killings in the radio script are later coming true involving the actors whose characters get offed suffering the same fate in real life.

With many suspects it's not too hard to figure out who dunnit (least likely one is usually the culprit), and the sex scenes are handled with verve, given some extra oomph by the vintage undergarments worn by the ladies. Contract star Kirsten Price has the lead, while Randy writes himself in with an unusually sympathetic role as the radio announcer who falls for a mousey go-fer girl working for mean station manager Chris Cannon.

Definitely a case of how attention to detail and pride of workmanship can punch of an Adult movie.
