Review of Everybody Knows

I suppose it's a cultural difference but I thought it was bizarre that they never called the police and did not take the girl to an MD or a hospital at the end. I also thought it was strange that even at the end it was never clear who the kidnappers were nor was it clear how that young woman Mariana was related to these people. I was also annoyed by the mother's irrational hysteria throughout. So overall I didn't like it.

The good parts were the beautiful landscapes and small town scenes that evoked a European style of living. I guess I didn't like any of the people in the film, except for Javier Bardem.....
