Seeing the stark contrast of the poverty throughout the stunning Appalachian mountains isn't what Christy Huddleston was prepared for. She's a well-to-do sheltered outsider whose pride as a first time teacher occasionally sets her up for both comedic and serious life lessons. This series (based on the novel which in turn is based on the author's mother's real life experiences), is so beautifully crafted, you'll find yourself dreaming of your beautiful friends Fairlight Spencer, ruddy Scottish men, and drunk pigs for weeks!
