I had a fairly high-ish bar for this and I wasn't disappointed.
From the remastered HD footage, to the behind the scenes gossip, to the perspective of the writers it was very good.
A few times they did blow their own trumpet with "firsts" that had already been done in TOS and TNG, but /meh.
To those complaining about too much politics, there was very, very little.
I don't see this appealing to anyone who isn't a Star Trek fan though.
